E-Kalyan is a renowned scholarship portal of Jharkhand which is run by the Schedule Tribe, Schedule Caste, Minority, and Backward Class Welfare Department of Jharkhand government in online mode. The main aim of this scheme is to bring accountability and transparency in the implementation of scholarships by speedy processing of the application, sanctioning them, and then at last disbursement of same.
The schemes offered by them include –
- E-Kalyan Post Matric Scholarship Scheme
- E-Kalyan Pre-Matric scholarship scheme.
Any candidate who wishes to avail the facility can easily apply through the portal link – ekalyan.cgg.gov.in. The applications are available in online mode for the academic session 2023-24. The last date to apply for Post- matric scholarship was June 20, 2023. The scholarships offered are divided into three categories mainly: Pre-matric scholarship, post-matric scholarship (within the state limits), and Post matric scholarship (Outside state limits).
Candidates applying for the scholarship need to fulfill these requirements to avail of the facilities –
- You have to be a domicile of Jharkhand.
- The background should be only from the following – Schedule Tribe (ST), Backward Class (BC), or Schedule Class (SC)
- The annual income of a family should not exceed certain limits set for different categories by the government.
- SC and ST – INR 2,50,000
- BC- INR 1,50,000
The students who do not fit in above mentioned categories are not fit for the scholarship scheme by the Jharkhand government. The students who are eligible for the scheme will be benefitted from Receiving tuition fees, maintenance fees, and academic allowance.
How to apply Online?
Step 1) Student Registration.
Visit the e-Kalyan Jharkhand portal (ekalyan.cgg.gov.in) and select “candidate registration”. Then click on Register/sign up button for registration and enter the necessary information.
Step 2) Log into the Student dashboard.
Enter the valid mobile number, login name, or registered email id and password.
Step 3) Fill out the application for the scholarship.
After logging in, candidates need to select on “Apply online” switch to begin the application process. Then select the scholarship, followed by entering the all required details.
Upload all documents supporting your documents and then click on the “Submit” button.
How to track the application status?
Step 1) Visit the portal
Step 2) Select “Candidate login”
Step 3) Use your Login credentials to log into your dashboard.
Step 4) Select the button “Application Status”.
What Documents do I need for registration?
The candidates who are eligible for the scholarship are required to submit certain documents that will act as a pillar in supporting their applied application. All the documents need to be scanned in a presentable manner. Here is the list of documents that will be required while filling out the application-
- Income Certificate
- Caste certificate
- Latest photograph of the candidate
- Bonafide certificate along with the structure of fees
- Previous year’s mark sheet of qualifying examination
- Resident certificate
- Bank passbook (Scanned copy)
- Resident certificate
