The Karnataka government created an official SSP portal where they offer a wide range of pre-matric and post-matric scholarship schemes. It is majorly a single integrated application portal for students coming from various backgrounds generally who belong to underprivileged categories. These scholarships are provided by different departments of the state.
The portal created is to keep all students informed on the eligibility criteria, links, required documents, and other details that would be provided by the Karnataka government. SSP pre-matric scholarships can be attained by students who between class 1st to class 10th. Apart from that such candidates who come from SC, ST or any other backward categories (OBC) are equally eligible for the pre-matric scholarship.
Here is the list of departments that will offer pre-matric scholarships to candidates-
- Department of Minority Welfare
- Tribal welfare department
- Social welfare department
- Backward classes welfare department
On the other hand, SSP Post matric scholarships would be available for students who have finished their studies at the matriculation level.
Who is Eligible?
To successfully apply for the SSP Scholarship candidate should be eligible by fulfilling certain categories. You should belong to the scheduled tribe category, the annual income should not exceed 1 lakh of the parents or guardians of candidates. Along with this, if you are affiliated with CBSE or the state board then you have to be a regular or full-time student of any private school or government school. One should keep an important factor in mind – If you repeat the class then the government may cancel your SSP Scholarship.
For acquiring the scholarship all the candidates need to keep these ready with them to complete the registration process –
- Ration card
- Bank account details
- Caste certificate
- Aadhar card of the candidate
- Aadhar card of the candidate’s parents
- School and college fees receipt
- Enrollment number of school/college
- Family income proof certificate
- Aadhar registered mobile number
- Student’s SATS (Student Achievement Track System) identification number.
SSP Scholarship Login 2023 procedure for registration –
Step 1) Visit the official website.
Step 2) Homepage will appear on your screen, then you have to click on the “create account” option. Then a new web page opens up on your screen.
Step 3) It provides you with a choice to select any plan according to your preferences.
Step 4) Choose your caste or class followed by selecting your district/taluk of the institute you are currently studying.
Step 5) Select “yes” only if you are having an Aadhaar number. Enter your aadhaar related details and click on submit.
Step 6) In the next step enter your contact details and Email Id.
Step 7) You would receive OTP on your mobile number. Enter in the space provided.
Step 8) Enter the caste certificate details which include the religion, caste certificate number, Category, etc.
Step 9 ) Now mention the income certificate information.
Step 10) If you have a ration card, then enter the details
Step 11) At this stage you have been asked to create your password.
Step 12) The account will now be made on the official page of the state.
Renewal Procedure-
If any candidate wishes to renew their scholarship, it is possible. Through following certain steps it is very simple –
Step 1) Go to the official website of the state scholarship portal. The homepage will be visible.
Step 2) Click on student login and you will be directed to a new page where you have to enter your username, password, and captcha code and then click “login”
Step 3) Now click on renew link and the renewal form will open on your screen.
Step 4) Enter the valid information and upload the required documents.
Step 5) At last click on “submit” and now you will be eligible to renew the scholarship
