The University of Delhi released the fourth cutoff list for BA Programme and B.Com courses of the Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB) for the academic session of 2024-25. The list is announced on September 19, 2024, on Delhi University’s official website; students can check the list from du.ac.in.
As per the notice released by DU, the online admissions of NCWEB will be conducted from Friday, September 20, 2024, to September 21, 2024. Details of the cut-off percentage of marks at which admissions to the above courses will be offered by different centers are also provided.
The cut-off list contains the minimum marks required for students in the general, scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribe (ST), and other backward classes (OBCs) to get their admission. The highest cut-offs for general category candidates for B.Com. are 83 percent at Hansraj College and 81 percent at Miranda House.
NCWEB is a division of Delhi University established in 1943 under which women students are provided opportunity to get admission in the DU affiliated colleges as they cannot attend the regular classes due to several personal reasons. Delhi University offers these women the undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
Women receive merit-based admission similar to regular Delhi University courses. But only the women who are residing in the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi can enroll in NCWEB. There are 26 colleges affiliated with NCWEB under the University of Delhi, which serves as a study center for women students who attend the weekend classes. It offers them degrees in various courses of Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce, and Masters of Arts.
BA Programme offers about 12,000 seats, and B.Com Programme gives around 5,000 seats to students. Whereas a limited number of seats are available for postgraduate courses, generally less than for undergraduate programs. The fee structure of NCWEB is affordable as it is set by keeping in mind the women from various economic backgrounds. The examinations are conducted at the end of the academic year within their study centers, and students receive the study material, but they are expected to self-study as well, alongside attending weekend lectures.
Students of NCWEB graduates also receive the Delhi University degree only; hence, they have the same worth and recognition as those from students of regular Delhi University courses. Many students use their leisure time to pursue further studies, enroll in online courses, or prepare themselves for various competitive exams. If any women have personal commitments and still want to study, they can get education without interruption in NCWEB.
