Delhi University: NSUI released its manifesto for DUSU elections 2024-25

Delhi University is all set to conduct the Delhi University Student’s Union elections 2024. National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) affiliated with Indian National Congress (INC) in the press conference, launched its manifesto on Saturday, 21 September 2024 for DUSU elections which are scheduled to be held on September 27, 2024.

NSUI National President Varun Chaudhary sated that their manifesto includes thorough approaches to address issues related to student welfare like fee hikes, better student services and campus safety, also said that they have included provisions that will focus on the student holistic development, their rights and improve infrastructural facilities. He added saying that he fully believes that his party will secure a 4-0 victory. He said that NSUI is committed to every promise they make.

According to NSUI’s manifesto, it will focus on ‘student first’ approach. Through the manifesto, elected candidates have promised to ensure transparent examination, boost students voice so that they can participate in decision making processes, will provide fair opportunities to students so that they can create an inclusive environment in the Delhi University.

NSUI announced their candidates contesting for DUSU elections on September 20, 2024. Ronak Khatri, 23 year old, law student from Narela, Delhi, popularly known as ‘Matkaman’ for his unique campaigning style is contesting for the post of President, Yash Nandal who is a 24 year old student of Buddhist Studies, from Rohtak, Haryana contesting for the post of Vice President, Namrata Jeph Menna and Lokesh Chaudhary are contesting for the posts of Secretary and Joint Secretary respectively.

Last year, three out of four seats were won by Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a student wing of RSS and one seat was secured by NSUI, the student wing of INC. This time NSUI is confident about its elected candidates. NSUI aims to secure the total number of seats this time i.e. all the four crucial seats  (President, Vice President, Joint Secretary and Secretary).
