Delhi University released the schedule for spot round 1 for the admission process of undergraduate courses. All those candidates who applied for the common seat allocation system in 2024 and did not receive any seats in the DU colleges in the previous rounds of the allocation process are eligible to participate in Spot Round 1.
Those candidates who have been granted seats in the Delhi University colleges will not be allowed to withdraw their admissions after 5 p.m. on September 17, 2024. There seats will automatically get frozen.
Interested candidates can apply for the spot round 1 by opting for the ‘Spot admission’ option provided in their dashboard. Students will get the option for those courses where seats are vacant right now. They have to choose between those courses only to get admission in DU. If the students get the college in the spot round, then that student will have to accept that seat. Failure to freeze the seat will automatically disqualify the students from the admissions process. Also, students will not get the option to upgrade and withdraw from their particular seat granted to them. Hence, students will not get improved colleges if they want; their seats will get frozen.
Delhi University will release the list of vacant seats on September 18, 2024, in the morning. The last date to apply for the spot round 1 would be September 19, 2024, till 11:59 p.m. DU will declare the allocations by September 21, 2024, during the afternoon. Candidates would get time to accept their allocated seats by September 22, 2024, until 11:59 p.m. The colleges would verify the online applications by September 23, 2024, until 4:59 p.m. Students would be requested to submit their fees by September 24, 2024, until 4:59 p.m.
During the spot rounds, the competition of students is particularly lower, as most of the students would have already grabbed their seats in the preceding rounds. But also, there would be a risk of not getting the desired colleges and courses. Students might need to take quick decisions and may not get enough time to evaluate their options thoroughly. Hence, students during the spot rounds demand to be tolerant and hopeful.
