Delhi University Introduces Three-Month Certificate Course on Understanding Women’s Studies and Indian Feminism

In a significant move towards promoting gender equality and inclusivity, Delhi University has announced the introduction of a three-month certificate course on Understanding Women’s Studies and Indian Feminism. The course is designed to equip students with information and critical thinking abilities by presenting a thorough awareness of women’s issues and the Indian feminist movement.
The programme, created in partnership with eminent academics and specialists in the subject, is intended to investigate the background, theories, and important ideas of women’s studies and feminism.

Classes will be conducted in a hybrid mode

This course structure includes four units which will cover various interdisciplinary topics including Foundations of women studies and feminism, Indian women’s history and culture, contemporary issues and debates in India.
Classes for this course is conducted in hybrid mode allowing outstation students to attend classes in onilne mode but participants from Delhi are required to attend classes in offline mode and 75% attendence is mandatory in both cases to be eligible for certificate.
Both undergraduate and graduate students, as well as research scholar of all disciplines interested in enhancing their understanding of women’s studies, will be eligible for admission to the certificate programme. The flexible curriculum has been created to enable people to pursue the course in addition to their regular academic or professional commitments.

Important dates to be noted

Applicants are required to fill the application form and last date for the same is 15 July, 2023 and the submission of the course fee of Rs.3000 is between 14-20 July, 2023. The commencement of classes will be from 25 July 2023 onwards.
Initiatives like this certificate programme are vital in providing people with the knowledge and skills needed to tear down systemic barriers and build a more equitable and just society as the battle for gender equality gains pace globally.
