On Friday, 16 August 2024, University of Delhi has released the result of first round of Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for undergraduate courses of 2024. DU published its admission list of 2024 on its official website, so the candidates who have applied for the DU Admission 2024 can visit its website ugadmission.uod.ac.in to check their admission status.
There are total number of 71,600 seats in DU colleges for undergraduate courses. But in general, 97,387 allocation have been made in the very first round. This is because Delhi University earlier claimed that 50% more applications will be accepted this year to avoid the vacant seats. Overall 52,838 seat were given to females whereas 44,549 seats were allocated to males.
This is the first time, Delhi University introduced single girl child quota for 2024-25 UG admissions and apparently 1,339 candidates received the placements using this quota. Also, for the allocation of orphan candidates, the number of allocation has seen a lift than the previous year which was 101 and this time in the first round the allocation is 243. B.Com (hons) became the most popular course as per the allocation, 10,096 candidates got selected.
Candidates who have granted the seats, they can accept the seat by 4:59 pm on August 18, 2024. All the colleges can verify and approve the online applications from August 16 to August 20, 2024. Students are required to fill the fees by 4:59 pm on August 21, 2024 to secure their seats. And for all those students who wants to upgrade, they are also required to do the fees filling process within the deadline and also to participate in following rounds, candidate must accept the allocated seat within the stipulated time.
According to DU’s recently released academic calendar, the classes for first-year undergraduate students will commence on August 29, 2024.
Submitting all, taking admission in Delhi University requires a lot of determination and patience as the admission process takes time and dedication of students. The first round result allocation was highly competitive process and hence students who have aquired the seats needs to be more judicious in taking steps for further admission process. Now, all the eyes are on the subsequent rounds of the DU’s admission process of 2024 as there are thousands of other candidates who are waiting for their admission in the later rounds.

Delhi University will use Class XII marks to fill any remaining vacant seats after the regular admission rounds are completed. In the cases where two or more candidates have same CUET score , there are total of five tie breaking rules which were introduced for that, like choosing the best 3 , 4 and 5 subjects of class XII result between the students as rule no. 1, 2 and 3 respectively, rule no. 4 is considering the age factor and rule no. 5 is alphabetical order of candidates names.
