The course objectives are to adopt a programme consisting of classroom lectures by the university’s own faculty, scholars and media professionals; preparing presentations; undertaking practical assignments with professional organizations; and bringing out collectively a print journal towards the end of the course.
Study tours and visits to development oriented NGOs also form an integral part of the course, enabling participants to relate the similarities of classroom teachings to practical realities. The course also includes effects similar to child birthrights, gender, trade, health, foreign procedure, terrain, and independence of media.

Facilities at IIMC

The IIMC archive has several thousand volumes of books and bound diurnals covering in-depth motifs of nonidentical aspects of mass message and subjects like print media, broadcasting, public dealings, advertising, movie, message, message exploration, radio and TV, information technology, and traditional media.
The archive has acceded to several diurnals, depositories, and leading journals for scholars. The college has Apna Radio which has been running at IIMC as a Community Radio in New Delhi for the last 11 years now, it was inaugurated on 09.09.2005. The Institute has separate sound recording, FM, and voice-over studios, which are utilized for imparting training in radio technology.
The Institute has partially upgraded its analogue tape-based equipment to modern digital technology. This provides students with experience in digital cameras and non-linear editing that are extremely essential in the current era.
The campus has a facility for several hostels for PG students to avail to ensure their comfortable stay and studies.
