B.Ed full form is Bachelor of Education, it is a 2-year undergraduate program that is done after graduation. It prepares students for a career in education. Students with a bachelor’s degree in Education or (B.Ed.) advance to a lucrative career as a teacher, school counselor, or administrator.

The National Council for Teacher Education is a statuary body that regulates courses for the teaching profession in India. B.ed course can also be taken up as a distance study course according to the candidate’s choice.

B.Ed Eligibility Criteria

  • Undergraduate – Candidates should have completed graduation from any of the recognized universities in any stream be it Arts, science, or commerce.
  • Educational Qualification – Some reputed colleges might also demand a minimum percentage of marks in graduation, which is 50% for general candidates and 45% for reserved category candidates
  • Age Limit – For admissions to a majority of colleges, there is no age limit. However, the admission process for some B. Ed. colleges prefer candidates to be a minimum of 19 years of age.

B. ed Course Duration- 2 to 5 years
