Delhi University Welcomed a Fresh Batch of 2024-25 Undergraduate Students on August 29, 2024

After overcoming all the difficulties in the admissions process of giving exams, filling out the application forms, granting seats, and showing courage throughout the process, freshmen students now finally visited their respective colleges in Delhi University on Thursday, August 29, 2024.

Hindu College, Kirorimal College, SRCC, Vivekananda College, etc. organized their orientation programs for the new batch of 2024-25. In the orientation, colleges familiarize the students with the college’s environment, facilities, societies, and upcoming elections. Besides orientation, colleges also arranged ice-breaking sessions for new students with their teachers and seniors.

Despite the heavy rain, innumerable youngsters dropped in the colleges. Students reached their colleges from different parts of the country, states like Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Kolkata, etc., showing the wide divergence of culture, tradition, and languages among the students.

There are many colleges that are still left to conduct orientation programs for newcomers. And the students affiliated with those colleges are still waiting for their welcome session.

Earlier, the commencement of the fresh session of DU was about to begin on August 1, 2024, but due to a delay in the CUET result as NTA faced allegations concerning the NEET UG and UGC NET paper leak, the session of 2024-25 was also delayed.

Although the new academic session has already begun for freshmen, there are still a few  candidates who wish to get admission to DU. Students are waiting for the result declaration for the third round, which will be released shortly. DU applicants are judged on the basis of their performance and supernumerary quotas, such as those for children/widows of armed forces personnel (CW), extracurricular activities (ECA), and sports.

Hence, there is still time left for the complete number of students to join DU colleges. Universities and colleges are still waiting for the total number of students to take admission.
