CUET 2022 Results: In the event of a tie between the candidates, Jamia Millia Islamia will give preference to older students

CUET 2022 Results: In the case of equality in admissions based on CUET scores, where two or more candidates have the same scores and also selected the same program, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) will prefer the old candidate university Registrar Nazim Hussain Jafri, told some sources.

The JMI tie-breaker formula is simple, unlike the one announced by the University of Delhi (DU). In which a candidate’s Council exam scores will be play a vital role in equality. For example, the applicant who scored more in the top three topics in class 12 board examination will be privilege. And if this fails, the DU will then considered the person who has scored more in the top four topics.

This year JMI introduced the Central University Entrance Test (CUET), for only eight undergraduate programs. These are six BA programs specializing in Sanskrit, Hindi, French and French Studies, Spanish and Latin American studies, Economy and History. The other two program are B.Sc Biotechnology and B.Voc (Solar Energy). Admission to other courses was based on his annual entry examinations.

The university began the new academic year for first-year students of all programs except the eight above covered by CUET. Jafri says that JMI is keen to close admissions for the eight programs to synchronize their schedule with others. For this purpose, the university will soon write to the National Testing Agency (NTA) to obtain candidate’s results.

He also mentioned that the academic sessions for other undergraduate programs at JMI have already begun. Hence, the University wants to kickstart the remaining eight program soon, as well. “We don’t want students to suffer since it was not their fault that the CUET exams got postpone several times. It is not their fault, and they should not be punished for this. So, we want to start their season as soon as possible,” he added.

CUET is the first single gateway for undergraduate admissions to all central universities. Official data with NTA suggests that 90 universities using CUET scores criteria for admissions this year received nearly 58.5 lakh applications. Jamia Millia Islamia received over 1.44 lakhs of applications.
