Netflix announced the date of the long-awaited finale of the popular TV Show “Sex Education” on the 5th of July, 2023 by realizing a teaser trailer, giving the audience just a small sneak peek into what they will be expecting from the final season of the show. This leaves the audience excited and intrigued to watch the show.
The final season is about to stream on September 21st, 2023. Netflix has realized the first teaser trailer for the new season which can be seen below.
The show “Sex Education” is a socially awkward teen drama. Genres of the show are Adolescence, Drama, comedy-drama, sex comedy, and coming-of-age.
This series is a queer-positive show, where that supports the LGBTQ community and show the daily struggles faced by them in a normal high school drama.
This series revolves around a student of Moordale High School named Otis, who is a socially awkward high school student who decides to give sex therapy to the students of the school for a certain amount of money.
They have won several awards for Best Female Performance in a Comedy program, critics choice awards, and many more.
They have added an interesting list of new characters which will be played by Dan Levy, Thaddea Graham, Lisa McGrillis, Marie Reuther, Jodie Turner-Smith, Eshaan Akbar, Felix Mufti, Anthony Lexa, Alexandra James, Reda Elazouar, Bella Maclean, and Imani Yahshua, although their roles have not been shared with the audience.
This new season will also show two new Trans characters, which were revealed by Krishna Ishta In November 2021, during a widely shared casting call stating that there will be a Trans “power couple” in season 4.
The lead writer, executive producer, and series creator, Laurie Nunn has expressed her gratitude towards the fans by saying “We are incredibly proud of ‘Sex Education’ and feel indebted to our brilliant writers, cast, and crew who put so much heart into making every episode. They have worked tirelessly to bring you the final series, and we can’t wait to share it with you.”
It is seen in the teaser that it is a new chapter in the lives of Moordale students, as upon the closing of their previous school, Otis Milburn, which is played by Asa Butterfield, and Eric Effiong, which is played by Ncuti Gatwa, will start their new lives at the Cavendish Sixth Form College. While Otis harbors nerves about establishing his new clinic, Eric hopes they will not face a resurgence of their previous outsider status.
Cavendish, however, proves to be a culture shock for the Moordale students, pushing their progressive boundaries even further. The college boasts daily yoga sessions in the communal garden, a strong sustainability ethos, and a group of popular students celebrated for their kindness.
Across the Atlantic, Maeve finds herself living her dream at the prestigious Wallace University, being taught by renowned author Thomas Molloy. Meanwhile, Otis longs for her while adjusting to the changes of having siblings at home and encountering other therapists on campus, according to reports.
The audience except for the answers to the questions that were left unanswered in the previous season, stronger friendship bonds, more comedy, thrill, and new relationships to surface in the upcoming season with the iconic plot twists that come with each season of the show.
The creators of the show decided to conclude the series, as it appeared to be inevitable as several members of the cast that are important to the show indicated that they would not be returning for the future seasons. Some of them being Simone Ashley, who played the role of Olivia Hanan, Tanya Reynolds, who played the role of Lily, and Patricia Allison, who played Ola, they all bid farewell to their respective roles.
