Maharastra Academy of Naval Education and Training (MANET), was established in 2001 at MIT Pune. The Institute was founded with the aim of producing skilled seafarers for global shipping companies. MANET is committed to providing STEM-based education to its enrolled cadets.

The B. Tech Marine Engineering is a four-year program that affiliates students with the machinery of the ship. The graduated engineers are responsible for the maintenance of the ship to ensure a smooth sail.
B. Sc Nautical Science is a three-year program for students aiming to sail as captains of the vessel in the future.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria is set according to the guidelines of the Directorate General of Shipping, India.
- A minimum of 60% in PCM in 10+2 along with 50% in English
- Need to clear IMU CET Entrance Examination and meet the criteria of medical fitness
- Have a valid Passport during Admission
