The cut offs and admission season of DU is just around the corner. It is in this moment of utter confusion, you are expected to pick the perfect course and college for yourself as well as handle all the official formalities.

Ask any senior of yours and you will understand how tiring the entire admission process is. But staying organized and on top of things is one way to tackle this big monstrous task. So here is a list of all the documents you will require during this hectic time.

Remember to keep the following documents along with two sets of self-attested photocopies handy in order to successfully register yourself for admission in the university:

1. Class X board examination certificate

The class 10th pass certificate acts as a proof for your date of birth, age and residence address.

2. Class X mark sheet

This is just a formality to prove that you have passed the class 10th examination before moving on for higher studies.

3. Class XII mark sheet

This will be the official proof of your percentage in the board examination that will verify your eligibility to the course on the basis of the cut offs released by the respective colleges.

4. Class XII provisional/original certificate

In case your education board has not released the original certificate yet, your school will provide you with a temporary provisional to certify that you have passed the examination.

5. Character certificate

This document is required to certify that you are morally sound and fit to be part of an educational institution. It is a conformation of your moral character.

6. SC/ST/PwD certificate (in the name of the candidate) issued by the competent authority

A proper proof in the form of a government issued certificate is required. In case the student is below 18 years of age the certificate should be in his/her parent’s name.

7. OBC (non-creamy layer) certificate (in the name of the candidate) issued by competent authority

This also requires an authentic certificate issued by the government in order to make you eligible for the said criteria.

8. Migration certificate or transfer certificate is required from outstation students

Transfer certificate from school/college as well as migration certificate from board /university is required from those students who have passed senior secondary exam from outside Delhi.

9. Hindi Pass Certificate

The certificate should state that you have studied the language Hindi till whichever class you studied it till (5th/8th/10th/12th). This helps in determining the qualifying course you will be allotted later on.

10. At least two passport size self-attested photographs

Actually, don’t just take two. Carry a bunch of passport size pictures with yourself. You never know where you will be required to stick one.

11. And lastly, the underrated essentials

Don’t forget to carry a bottle of water and an umbrella because sun or rain, you will be standing there for hours so it’s better to be fully prepared when you enter the warzone.

Also, never underestimate the requirement of fevisticks and staplers. You will need them everywhere and if you carry them, you won’t be reduced to a helpless little child asking people around for one.

 Note: In case any of the documents submitted by the students during the admission process is falsely attested or if falsified records are detected, the student will be disqualified from attending any course in the university /or its colleges for next five years and in addition.
