Graciously eyeing the H&M in Connaught place but literally no money to buy anything in there or in fact any other branded store? Well, then you are in the right place, my friend. Are you as broke as every student ever?
Worry not, we have you covered in terms of shopping that is going to give you enough variety to wear in college and otherwise and also not be too taxing on your pocket. Here are 5 places where you can shop on a student-friendly budget-:
-
Kamla Nagar Market
Location- Kamla Nagar Market, North Campus, Delhi University; Nearest Metro Station- Vishwavidyalaya
Your next-door convenience shopping market if you live or study in/near North Campus. It is a unique combination of street shopping as well as brands. We usually can’t do brands, so for us the street is lined with small shops with racks of chic clothes, shoes and jewelry of all kinds (also a street shop sells all kinds of shorts for 200 bucks). With a little bargain and a little compromise, you are all set. There are also hidden shops such as ‘Funky’ which is a little difficult to locate but is a cute little store that’s sells literally everything for 300. Yes, everything. And in case you get tired of shopping, you’ll find multiple food joints here as well ( PS- We at North Campus do not call it Knags)
-
Janpath
Location- Near Connaught Place; Nearest Metro Station- Janpath/Rajiv Chowk
A five-seven minute walk from the metro station, if you are determined to get cheap but really chic clothes, Janpath proves to be ideal. It almost never disappoints. From the best collection of earrings (trust me, plan earring shopping from Janpath at least once in 2-3 months) to t-shirts, skirts, merchandise, bags, shorts, kurtis, everything is available here. From the shopkeeper saying 700, you ultimately bring back the product in 200. So it’s a win-win situation.
-
Sarojini Nagar
Location- South Delhi; Nearest Metro Station- Sarojini Nagar Metro Station
Sarojini is famous for selling duplicates of our dream brands, aka Mango, Burberry, Diesel, and Zara at 1/4th the price. Between the range of 100-400, you can pick up all your favorite clothes. The market has a range of beauty products, shoes, clothes and accessories, all suited to your taste and pocket. ( PS- It is closed on Mondays)
-
GK II( Greater Kailash Market)
Location- GK II M Block, Nearest Metro Station- Greater Kailash Metro Station
This is one of the popular spots for budget shopping in South Delhi. They have a wide range of clothes including everyday wear, trousers, tracksuits as well as party wear. It is also known for its bags. They have a good collection of accessories, and shoes to choose from. The market is closed on Tuesdays.
